The Mark Knopfler of the Christian recording world? Well, not really, although Chris does show great guitar talent on this his first album release. "Jamming With The Angels" is Chris at his most fun-loving, you can tell that on this one he's decided just to have a good time and forget about the tension which at times tends to spoil some of the material included here. "Wake Up" is lively enough but is let down by the sameness that pervades this collection. Having said all that, this is by no means a bad album and improves its rating with an excellently written lyric on "Can You Go The Distance". There's no disputing the man's integrity and message - it just needs the sharpness of that final track a little more often to provide more variety, otherwise it'll all end up sounding like an even longer version of Dire Straits' "Telegraph Road".
