With Cross Rhythms Festival '95 just passed, it felt a trifle strange to be invited to review this 30-minute video promo of Cross Rhythms '94. And, just for a moment, the temptation to dwell on the success of last year's event consumed all critical thought. However, this tantalisingly brief glimpse did offer an interesting insight into the limitations of video representation and, with so many disparate activities vying for special attention, the question every producer or director should ask is, "What do I leave out?". Sadly, someone's ministry will always land on the cutting room floor and, despite the obvious limitations on finance, I believe, Kingdom Vision's video snapshot is a noble effort. Sharper editing and special boom mikes would undoubtedly improve the audio visual quality and I, for one, would have welcomed more feedback from the punters. Perhaps the experience will provide the basis for a superior video of this year's festival that will tell the world that our God is a God of awesome quality.
