Although rapper Cy gets the main billing some tracks are rapped by guests Tre 9, Soulfruit and Holsey. They all offer a pared down, sombre, East/South vibe, using techno/synth samples and loops throughout. Sad to say there are no real head turners, though a handful of tracks may get heads noddin', but on the whole the album makes no real attempt at varying pace or style, making things formulaic and eventually, even for hip-hop underground devotees, downright dull. The rappers here may be able rhymers, but their sound needs a lift/stronger identity in order for it to hit home.
