Darrell Six sounds like a well-travelled bloke; he's spent the last six or so years living in China, where he has recorded several Chinese albums, pursuing his dream to create worship where none exists. Now I'm the bloke who likes to explore Christian music from different cultures and foreign tongues, so what does Darrell send me to review? His first all-English album, of course! What a let down (not the album itself, just the fact that he's sent me the English one and none of the Chinese ones). The album itself is pretty good! Hooks and riffs aplenty, a bit of Hammond organ here, funky percussion over there, gritty vocals. I can envision the crowd at a packed youth worship event somewhere really going hammer and tongs with the anthemic "Love You". "Desert In Bloom" is another cracker; it starts off with a swingy, jazzy vibe before going into full rocker mode (nice use of Hammond organ, too). According to his bio, Delirious? are a big influence. It shows. Brilliant album; now let's hear the Chinese music!

George,

I'm a big fan of D6. Unlike yourself, I prefer the English versions as I don't speak Mandarin. Glory In the Desert is his best work to date.

The official web site is http://www.createworship.org/

Here you can buy all the current published work included my favorite (Dance in the Flames) and some Chinese worship music.

There is an unofficial fan site with many older MP3's that follow D6 music available at http://dsix.homestead.com/

Here you can listen to several very early D6 works including some Chinese (all available in MP3 format).
