An interesting Anglo/German production this, proving that the English and German can work together if they've a mind to, although quite what effect the European Cup Final will have on future projects remains to be seen.. Anyway, leaving football out of it, Paul Douglas is based in Nottingham, his pal Gunter Hauser resides in Kraichtal, a town in the south west corner of Germany, near the French border. There's a good songwriting team going here; Paul and Gunter have credits on all the 12 tracks on this CD, and the styles take in up tempo pop to gentle ballad to synth-driven mood music, encompassing a wide range of topics from praise to the Lord and testimony to exhortation and invitation, with a refreshingly cliché-free lyric style. Enthusiasm makes up for a few vocal deficiencies, the production quality is acceptable, but there's an awful lot of this sort of stuff out there, and truth to tell, there's little on this to make it stand out from the crowd.
