This East London 'covers' band have released an EP to fill a gap before the release of a full follow up to 'Bought Not Souled'. The release's focal point is the song "You're All I Need To Get By" (which oldsters will remember when Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell hit with the song in 1968 and recent telly addicts will know from a brilliant cat and budgie TV commercial). This version, from ECHO's album, has of course Christianised lyrics. It's followed by a live version of the same song, recorded at Highway Church in London, then a live recording of the relatively modern worship song "Everlasting God". The arrangements are tight and the music and vocals powerful across all three songs though the ECHO Sisters sound a little uncertain with some of the bvs. Recordings aren't the primary part of ECHO's ministry and not for a moment would anyone in the band suggest that this version comes near to the Motown classic original. But it's still an enjoyable enough little CD.
