Kirkland is based and leads worship at North Point Community Church, Atlanta, and appears on some of North Point's albums. This set of self-penned material follows on from his well-received EP 'Here And Now' of 2011, taking four tracks from that offering to form the basis for this expanded collection. The theme across this piece is one of encouragement for us to allow God to change us into people who seek to make a difference here and now in the world. The mainly guitar-led musical style is most frequently anthemic, although there is a sufficient rhythmic and instrumental variation to avoid monotony. In particular, the excellent "Keep Holding On" provides an oasis of gentleness - acoustic guitar-accompanied duet with a female voice - amidst the drama and offers the one major change in feel across the collection. Kirkland has a strong voice with a good range and which copes easily with this material, and he clearly has an ear for a catchy tune. There may not be a song that goes around the world in this offering, but all of these tracks are competently composed and performed with aplomb.
