This is the second album by Oregon-based worship rock band Elliot. The band describes the album as being made to "inspire and connect listeners to their Creator and to live for a greater purpose". Okay, so what do the guys bring us? 'Resolute' begins with "Beyond The Break", a soft rock track featuring gentle lead vocals, synths and light rock guitars while the title track features a synth lead line and a bridge sung acapella style ("And though my eyes they dimly see and my faith is rather weak/I trust in you, I trust in you"). "All Of My Hope" features a pleasant bass and piano accompaniment and is probably the strongest song on the album both lyrically and musically and the last track "Have All Of Me" starts with an acoustic piano and vocals and gradually builds before finishing quietly again. The worship-focussed lyrics communicate the Gospel well, helped by the clear voice of lead singer Corey Parnell. But in truth, 'Resolute' suffers from a lack of variation in musical approach.
