Quite an ambitious concept. Take Scripture and turn it into noisy, brash alternative rock with the help of a bunch of (sadly largely uncredited) US rockers. The first time I listened to this album, I wasn't sure about it. Musically it's pretty cool and the production has a good raw feel to it. But the way the Bible passages are shoe-horned to fit into the music is unconvincing. Some words are lengthened to fit into a particular musical phrase, and some are spoken through weird effects - which rather nullifies the effect of using Scripture in the first place. Having said all that there's some real rock energy here and for all its faults I would recommend it to alternative rock devotees.
