This recording (confusingly called The Reason We Sing EP' in Premier) contains an eventful 12 minutes of white harmony singing from established CCM band First Call. The title track condenses five old First Call numbers together in a flurry of vocal activity where the harmonies are tight, bright and at times shrill. One of these numbers, a playful swingbeat ditty, tells the comical tale of a Christian causing a neighbourhood commotion by praising God on his roof - novel, and wholly American! The two remaining purely acappella tracks demand a more acquired taste; "Rejoice Ye Pure In Heart" sounded a bit too much like a Christmas carol to my rock-trained ears, although "I Found Love" is pleasant enough. I'm not quite sure what specifically this EP has set out to achieve with its mixture of old and new material, but it does give a palatable taster of a very gifted group of singers.
