Focus provide a break from the norm in R&B today; rather than join the millions making 'swing' music (which, in excess, can be mind-numbingly boring), they've opted for a sound that's closer to the Emotions or the Pointer Sisters than it is to Changing Faces or SWV (having said that, they look slightly more, er, mature than the current crop of girl groups). All 11 of the tracks here were written by members of the foursome in one combination or another, with the standout tunes being the salsa-lite "Steadfast Unmovable" and the rip-roaring gospel workout, "I'll Serve Him".
