In 2015 this group of Australian metallers signed to Facedown Records and released this studio album. The term metanoia describes changing one's life through a spiritual conversion and For All Eternity have addressed this through 10 confrontational tracks that tackle questions of faith and repentance. For the most part, this offering is typical metalcore that incorporates brutal breakdowns, screamed raspy vocals and pummelling rhythms along with more melodic sections. What provides some deviation from the norm, however, are elements of electronica reminding me of Underoath's 'Disambiguation' sitting next to For Today-influenced rhythm sections. Opening with haunting echoes and metronomic beats, "Remove The Pulse" introduces us to the full force of Shane Carroll's rasp in a break that is incessant in its power. With a story telling nature to their lyrics, "Break Of Dawn" trades vicious verses with melodic layered choruses and ambient sections. A guest appearance by Mattie Montgomery adds a belligerent edge to "Unharnessed". The most catchy and original track is probably "Stitched The Same" which features a quieter Kyle Tamosaitis on vocals against a backdrop of keys and electronic drums. The song builds slowly with melodic phrases and broad guitar soundscapes providing a counterpoint to the abrasive nature of the other tracks. Whilst this recording is in no way breaking the mould of what metalcore provides and never really consistently reaches the heights of the more recent 'The Will To Rebuild', tracks such as the title cut provide enough of a signpost to what For All Eternity have moved on to. Coupled with the crystal clear production, this is one album that has enough about it to make it worth seeking out when following the progress of one of Facedown's top artists.
