Good production, expressively soulful voice and a passion to communicate the Gospel with no apology. This "home grown" EP provides six tracks, some original and some new arrangements of covers, and therefore is a showcase for the range of Gifty's voice and talent. Perhaps one of the most outstanding pieces on the project is "Something Inside So Strong", an interesting interpretation of the classic written by Labi Siffre. On the downside the EP lacks any lively, bass-punchy offerings, and the arrangements are a tad limited, leaving some tracks sounding the same. But this lady sings really well and reports are that she did well at the ln:fusion festival in Ireland. It is an interesting offering from a rising star. It would be good to see more black gospel music of this quality coming out of the British scene. Let's see a full-length album in the near future please!
