Grand Vanity is Greg and Dani Jong and they recorded this seven-song mini-album at the Hollywood Pacific Theatre, home of the church Ecclesia. A press release describes their music as "swaggering pop rock" but in truth, their approach to worship music is more gently reflective than charged with stadium rock bombast. The most effective tracks here are the chart-like opener "Make My Soul Aware", "Praise My Soul The King Of Heaven" where Henry Francis Lyte's timeless words are put to a new Greg Jong melody and the flowing "Christ Victorious". Greg's voice is strong and the atmosphere created is of worshipful sincerity.
