Surrey-based Greater Life are made up of Judy Jones, Ray Germain and Paul Van Essen along with a number of friends. Their sound reminds me of The Beehive with the same jazz funk sound focusing mainly on Judy's voice (especially notable on "New Song"). The album opens with "Audacity" and "Magnify", which set the fast pace with tracks it is difficult to sit still to. Then the mood changes with worshipful ballads such as "In You Alone" and "Sing Hallelujah". Track four ("Heads I Win Tails You Lose") however is an unexplained mystery as it is dedicated to "my arch enemy"- an instrumental with Judy singing notes over the top, frankly all very confusing and difficult to listen to. Highlights for me, however, are the bass guitar driven "Forever Powerful" and "Send Me". My overall impression is of a band brimming with potential.
