Now here's a blast from the past; Greg was for a good few years the lead singer of Petra, starring on such classic albums as 'Washes Whiter Than' and 'Never Say Die', before he was replaced by John Schlitt in 1985, whereupon he released a couple of solo albums and then rather slipped from the scene. I don't recall seeing any UK releases by Greg for years, so this 2001 product could be a comeback, and I'm pleased to say that his dulcet tones are in fine fettle. Assisted by John Lawry, who played in Joe English's band in the early '80s before linking up to play keyboards with Petra, the style of this is very retro, with the emphasis on rock praise, and whilst a bit short on playing time at just over 36 minutes for 10 tracks, there's plenty of sassy horn stabs and hot guitar licks to keep wrinkly rockers happy. The only problem is, Petra themselves did this sort of thing so much better.
