This will be Guy's first single release from his third album 'Closer To The Sun'. Since winning Australia's version of Pop Idol in 2003 the Aboriginal singer/songwriter is clearly going from strength to strength. Guy cites influences which include Michael W Smith and Stevie Wonder, however, on "Taller, Stronger, Better" there are strong vocal harmonies and pop sensibilities reminiscent of a welter of harmony groups. On "Do Life" Guy strips things down a bit with an acoustic guitar-driven first verse and chorus but returns with the rest of the band to complete the song. Finishing off the three song set is a vocal mix of the first track; this is a more bare bones effort with Guy being accompanied by piano and acoustic guitar. This allows the Australian warbler to demonstrate his vocal range. His new CD is meant to have influences by everyone from Lenny Kravitz to Marvin Gaye and this CD single is an impressive taster for the project.

Prior to being signed as a mainstream artist by Sony BMG Australia, Guy recorded Christian music as part of the Planetshakers and Paradise Community Church groups, even touring the US as part of Planetshakers. Guy has never recorded ‘Christian’ music with Sony BMG but his inspirational song Taller Stronger Better was picked up by many Christian radio stations internationally. And I often see Planetshakers listed on Christian radio playlists, but we might have to wait a little while yet to get the rest of Guy's catalogue available to buy over the counter internationally.

Plus he wants to do a Gospel album for the US market - that'll be soul/gospel at its best.

If he comes your way, try and see him live. That is really something!

And I forgot to mention if you loved Taller Stronger Better you will love Guy Sebastian’s anthemic and powerful song RECEIVE THE POWER which he penned and which has been chosen by the Vatican to be the theme song for World Youth Day, a huge global Christian event being held in Sydney, Australia in 2008.

Guy is one of my favourite singer/songwriters of gospel music as well as his mainstream stuff as well

Taller Stronger Better is one of my favourite songs of all time – this song is such a beautifully crafted and inspirational ballad which showcases Guy’s signature voice to perfection. Some of the notes he hits on this song are truly amazing and LIVE it is absolutely sensational. The lyrics have real meaning to me, to get past the hurdles of life and be taller stronger and better when I get through the rough patches that test us
