James is from Missouri but before that he was Jimmy, who clocked up a lot of miles with Britain's gone-but-not-forgotten thebandwithnoname. Anybody who remembers our man careering all over the stage playing (or sometimes miming) his electric guitar will be expecting something special from this debut release. Though it doesn't quite match the adrenaline-pumping excitement of Chip Kendall and co, there is still plenty on this worship EP which demands attention. One second he's rocking out on the edgy "Running" and the next he's offering delicious, soulful guitar licks to the intimate title track. The closing song "The Rescue" features a classic rock style with some unexpectedly impressive vocals. Clearly the relocated muso has much to offer the modern worship world.
