Since the end of The Crabb Family, Jason Crabb has established a strong solo career with three records and now comes a fourth and has been named Dove Awards' Male Singer Of The Year. It's been argued for some time that country music is the last surviving place where top quality songwriting is encouraged and certainly looking at this offering from Crabb, my immediate impression was 'Whatever The Road' is packed with top quality songs. And Crabb is a great singer bringing plenty of emotion to these songs. Highlights include the inspiring "He Won't Leave You There" and the catchy "Chance For A Miracle". The closing story song "Mysterious Ways" is probably my favourite.
