A new album from this talented duo is always welcome and the combination of Alex's accomplished gritty voice and incisive songwriting and Jenny's expressive emotional vocal delivery always delights. But this time they have surpassed previous efforts with an album that lyrically illuminates some of life's broken realities and clothes the words in music that seeps into the consciousness rather than immediately grabbing you. Alex writes powerfully from his own vulnerability and 'Walking With Stones In My Shoes' is a moving account of the pain of younger days and the birth and cot death of a daughter 16 years ago. You can hear his voice tremble with emotion as he sings. 'There Is Love And There Is This Love' is a tale of the world's counterfeit love exposed by the real thing when you encounter God with Jenny's voice floating sublimely over an ambient viby backing. The duo also still know how to let loose and 'Held Together By Nails' and 'I Believe' are both vintage Alex Legg rockers. Basically there are too many excellent songs to name them all here! Note must be made of Paul Field's production work which has added to the equation helping Jenny and Alex to create an album that begins to do justice to their talents. The word here is depth! Not some fast food music and lyrical meal but rather a feast to be savoured with every bite. This is music for adults! My advice, don't rush into this album but let it soak into your soul and move you, and you'll love it!
