In the States, Jesse is a well-known actor with dozens of movie and TV appearances. He is also a Christian and worship leader, and this is his debut album. His high voice is pleasant enough, production / arrangements are adequate, though the songs are a mixed bag. You've got pretty anonymous pop rock next to a song like "Even When", which sounds like something which could have come from a Southern gospel songbook. Unusually, 'Journey' saves its best tracks until the end, "Light Your Way" with a prog rock arrangement and "You Spoke" with some delicious cellos interweaving with Jesse's clear vibrato-less voice making the listener forgive some of the flaws on earlier cuts, like the poor lyrics on "Can't Stop Singing" ("I believe in you/No one else will do") and the fragment of children's choir on "This Little Light Of Mine". Doesn't sound to me that this is an album that is going to expand his showbiz career to that of Christian radio hitmaker. But maybe he won't be too worried by that. And those two closing tracks are testament that he has a lot more musical talent than many actors who take to making records.
