Having relocated to London from the Scottish highlands, worship leader John Alexander Wilson's third album sees him continue in the same vein as his previous releases with a collection of self-penned, arranged and produced songs that seek to glorify God at every turn. Unfortunately, this is very much standard fare up until the midway mark when Wilson's otherwise considered vocal style steps up a gear in the stirring "Heal Our Nation". Wilson maintains a strong biblical focus throughout with the likes "Lead Me To The Rock" - based on Psalm 61 - whilst the upbeat "Our God Is Great" is a competent enough song of praise. Although Wilson's work could benefit from some lyrical refining, he is certainly not afraid to assert the conviction of his beliefs in tracks such as "The Fool" which tackles the folly of unbelief whilst throwing in a tad clumsy assault on the theory of evolution. Despite nice touches like a lovely guitar solo in "Heal Our Nation", a stronger creative edge is required to allow the work of this obviously talented and Godly individual to shine.
