How can I judge this CD? It is a five track EP by a female singer/songwriter, backed by her band of eight. Four out of the five tracks are written by Karen, and I can't fault the lyrics or the content - meaningful, clear and passionate, showing spiritual maturity and security. Musically, the songs are catchy and varied, with smooth sax on "Soft As A Shadow", but also rather predictable and uninteresting, and while Karen's vocals are "delicate" and "sweet", they are not convincing enough for me, and perhaps need more vocal support to really bring them out.
