The Houston, Texas-based artist brings together in this, according to the attached blurb, his first "fully produced musical effort." Blending elements of pop, blues and Americana Mr Brunig, sounding a bit like Brian Houston meets Elvis Costello vocal-wise, takes the listener on a musical journey with lyrics which highlight his faith in God ("Me N' Jesus") and also his observations on his environment ("The Bay"). There is also a song called "Where Is God? (The Katrina Song)" which was directly inspired by his work with evacuees from New Orleans as they started to arrive in Houston which despite the question points to hope. In addition to this there is an interesting blues acoustic version of the John Newton classic "Amazing Grace" which features a genuine Texas rainstorm, if you will. An album well worth a listen.
