Kathryn Scott came to attention through her vocal contributions to Vineyard recordings and, in particular, her composition "Hungry". Now a pastor alongside her husband at the Causeway Coast Vineyard church in Northern Ireland, Scott here releases her follow up to the well received 2003 release 'Satisfy'. Produced by Brent Milligan and the first album Kathryn has recorded in the States, the songs here include collaborations not only with her mother, but also with Brian Doerksen and Paul Baloche ("You Gave Your Life Away"). The songs are grounded in an intimate relationship with Jesus, concluding with a reworking of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", complete with chorus. Scott's delivery has been compared to Sara Groves and Norah Jones. There's a relaxed meditational feel to the musical backing. The songs are rarely upbeat, but ballads abound, often with repetitive choruses lending themselves to the listener becoming a worshipper. Undoubtedly, the best album so far from the talented colleen.
