This release is the latest offering from the Keswick main tent and it certainly doesn't disappoint. The Keswick convention is known primarily for the quality of its preaching/teaching, though in recent years it has slowly updated its worship sound away from the sounds of Hymody towards something that, if not exactly cutting edge at least, is contemporary enough to engage younger Christians as well as its older supporters. The worship is led by some of the best leaders of the day including Steve James, Stuart Townend and those masters of modern day hymnody Keith and Kristyn Getty. "By Faith" heads up the track list and instantly you are transported to a place of communal worship. The sense of being a part of the bigger picture that is Christ's united Church is only strengthened by the atmosphere that is created by the live recording of the tracks. I was in awe at the way lyrics written over 135 years ago by Dora Greenwell were resurrected and given new life in the song "My Saviour My God". With timeless classics like "All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name" and "Love Divine All Love Excelling" that remind us all of the history of our faith, to fresh new songs of jubilation like "Everyone Needs Compassion" and "Love Of God". The best Keswick album for many a long year.
