Released in 1988, this album reunited the beauty queen turned CCM singer with producer Brian Tankersley for her third album in three years. This time Kim chose to open her album with a cover version of one of Rare Earth's top songs "I Just Want To Celebrate" and it sets the scene perfectly here as it's given an '80s synth pop makeover. Obviously this album is very much of its time in terms of keyboard sounds, huge drums and bass which were Tankersley's trademark sound. Adding into the mix a pile of well crafted pop tunes with straight forward messages and topping it all off with Kim's vocals and harmonies galore makes for a decent pop record. There's the jaunty pop of "Stop Fighting" while the warning against dating unsaved members of the opposite sex on "Not For Me" is as relevant spiritually now as it was 20 years ago.

I remember playing this in my church's canteen one day, and one of the pastors listening intently to one of the tracks for about half a minute before coming over to me and saying, "You really ought to be playing Christian music in here..."

Hi George, maybe the pastor heard "I Just Want To Celebrate", after all it was a pop hit in early 70's.
It makes one think though, doesn't it, if you can't tell that it is gospel music, is it? We have come a long way considering, in pop gospel music. Where do you draw the line? We now have worship music on the rise, for over a decade, maybe that solves the issue.

I have this album by this 80's ccm pop icon. What a nice pop remake of 70's pop group Rare Earth's song "I Just Want to Celebrate". Another song that was also a video hit was "Not For Me". I believe this lp really catapulted Kim into the ccm spot light. I have the videos for both of these classic ccm songs.
GOD Bless! -Don
