Having been compared to artists such as Ray Lamontagne, Ryan Adams, Neil Finn and Bob Dylan on his previous EP release 'Little Light', this antipodean singer/songwriter could also be likened to Bruce Springsteen in acoustic mood. Kris spent seven years plying his trade around various pubs, clubs, etc of the United Kingdom. In addition he played live sets for BBC radio and this CD was recorded in England. With his first full length release the listener is presented with a real introspective honesty on 10 songs; though this does not mean that this is a depressing CD. Broken relationships get the music started with "So Beautiful", and the honesty continues with the heart-on-sleeve title track. Khris' observations on longevity of love are noted on "Old Shirt" and his belief of hope is beautifully described on "I Still Believe". Although this gritty-voiced songsmith has now departed these shores and is home in his native Australia let's hope that will give him fresh material for a follow up album. He'll be hard pressed to beat this one though.
