One of several releases to come from Canadian Laura, 'Home' is a meditational worship project consisting of 13 tracks alternating between prayer and worship. The structure of the album is so designed to be listened to, prayed to, worshipped through in one sitting. The focus, as outlined by the title, is home; to come home to God's presence, to allow him to make his home in you. The setting is a simple one, Laura's vocals ably supported by Roy Oommen on piano. Unlike some of the soaking albums I have heard recently, this is a more structured set with better defined songs. The album flows seamlessly between the tracks, Laura praying over the piano backing until they move into another song. You could imagine them leading a worship session in this way, transitioning between songs with prayer and blessing. There are songs here that could easily translate to a worship setting, and while the CD has been created to be listened to in one setting, the songs are strong enough to be listened to in isolation. An excellent aid to worship.
