The Mooring siblings plus two others make up the current line-up of Leeland and, although still a very young band, this fourth album is incredibly mature and accomplished. Thoughtfully inspired by the great revivalists of times past including Jonathan Edwards and William Booth, the call to evangelism is unmissable right from the off. The fact that this album was recorded 'live' in the studio is also evident, though certainly not to the detriment of the record's quality, with a spontaneous worship jam session on "All Over The Earth" which goes on for almost nine minutes. You certainly get plenty of minutes for your money with 'The Great Awakening' as well as a feast of food for thought. "Pages" is about that vulnerable moment when we will stand before God and stare at the chapters of our lives. The style is mostly worshipful rock in the Delirious? or Tree63 vein but there is a bold, and highly successful, attempt at something more edgy in "I Can See Your Love" which has an intro as creative as some of the later Radiohead material. The back half is slightly weaker but the rest more than makes up for this.

Product Description

Since their stunning 2006 breakthrough debut album Sound of Melodies, progressive worship band Leeland have become one of the most important voices for a new generation of worshippers.

Known for their passion-filled live worship experience, the band is readying their fourth national release The Great Awakening.

This time around, lead singer Leeland Mooring and brother Jack Mooring are joined by younger sister Shelly (18), along with drummer Mike Smith, to bring a refreshed sound that stirs the soul like never before. The charm of the Mooring family harmonies, together with the haunting production of producer Paul Moak, are sure to take listeners on an impassioned spiritual journey straight to the heart of God.

“We’ve poured our hearts out into this record, and have very high hopes. God is doing a new thing everywhere and His glory is being poured out on the hearts that are truly hungry for Him. This record is a call for justice and a Great Awakening to the glory of God waiting for all who would believe in Jesus Christ!” - Leeland
