Perth-based bluesman Lins offers a collection of songs which present the listener with a diverse range of covers recorded with a few friends. They were recorded in places ranging from living rooms to home recording studios and the songs range from the classic "Money (That's What I Want)", a great blues acoustic version of "Looking For Someone To Love" and a brilliant version of the "Doctor Who Theme" using a Fuzz Bass, a chest of drawers and a backwards broom! Also here is Robert Johnson's "Dust My Broom", a song with several theories to the meaning of the lyrics, recorded in Lins' kitchen. My favourite here, however, is the Labi Siffre "Must Be Love" (once a hit for Madness). Lins' rendition has some additional vocals from Morna Young. Through all this what is demonstrated is Lins is a highly talented musician who even with zero budget can make a record worth listening to.
