When I saw the title of this album, I wondered if it was a harbinger of what was to come; a cheesy incompetent disaster where the singer was "exposed" as someone who couldn't sing or write a song to save his/her life. Thankfully, what came out of the speakers was a thoroughly pleasant album from an Irish lady with an expressive soprano voice and a neat line in gentle worship material. Nick Haigh brings his violin, mandolin and bodhran to add to the backing band, the whole thing was produced at Satellite Studios in Ballincollig, Co Cork, and whilst this isn't Clannad or Iona, the quality of the performances and songs means that the end product will not disappoint lovers of any sort of Celtic style music. Fave track is "My Nearest Kinsman", with Nick's bodhran and violin setting the tone (how can he play both at the same time?), and some haunting whistle by Oliver Keane. Lovely stuff, and well worth seeking out.
