When George Luke reviewed this gem in Cross Rhythms on its original release in 1998 he noted that "Bazil Meade and co have made records before but have never sounded their true selves on them. Not this time." This sums it up very well. Whereas in the past the chameleon-like stalwarts of the British gospel scene have turned their hands to everything from four-on-the-floor dance music to cheesy Christmas corn, here they deliver the real deal. With an organic live feel and plenty of space for Bazil and co to show the full power of their soulful delivery this is a milestone album in the development of UK gospel music.
