New York-based Lorraine has been involved in church music for many years, as well as using her talents on Broadway. It is no surprise then to listen to well-crafted songs that are loaded with emotional intimacy on her seventh solo album. However, this is the first "song gift" concept album from Lorraine. The idea being that each song has been written for a specific person or church on a special occasion, or has been especially commissioned. The result is a melodious and uplifting triumph. The arrangements vary from extremely simple yet powerful piano and vocal to a full band sound. "Love In The Name Of Christ" asks us to imagine a world free from evil and sin and invites us to bring Jesus' love into every aspect of our lives. The gentle and reflective "God Speaks" digs deep and reminds us that he is always listening and longing to communicate with us. Lorraine's involvement in the theatrical world has influenced the musical narrative in some of her songs such as "Love Lifted Me", but this is no bad thing. They will be left reverberating in your mind and spirit long after you have heard them. This soothing and reflective album will gently turn your heart and mind towards God.
