This is a live acoustic DVD featuring three of the four Lost Dogs (Terry Taylor, Mike Roe, Derri Daugherty) in an intimate Chicago venue. This limited edition DVD/CD is the sequel to their 'Via Chicago' DVD and features six songs left off the first release and is available from lo-fidelity.com and thelostdogs.com. The film is released on the (honestly named) Lo-Fidelity Records, and the grainy, black and white concert footage lends a gritty, authentic feel to the show. Warmth is radiated by our three welcoming hosts, who banter, laugh, tease each other and forget their words with endearing regularity. As you watch, you can't help but break into a smile. Great skill is involved in bringing the audience out of a sweet, sad song "Rebecca Go Home" into the twee rebuke of 1940's sing-along "Dust On The Bible". The fun of "Three Legged Dog" leads us back to the serious "Real Men Cry" and "Be My Hiding Place", a response to 9/11 inspired by the Psalms. It's a poignant moment noting that the concert took place in the month immediately following the Twin Towers attacks. The disc ends way too soon with "Golden Dreams". At only 25 minutes long for the DVD and 23 minutes for the CD, the show feels disjointed; almost like you're watching an outtakes disc and so the fun is over as soon as it's begun - the interview footage is beyond brief, meaning that this release will appeal only to completists, collectors and hardcore fans.
