LoveCollide - Lauren Budnick and Brooke DeLeary, from North Carolina - here release their third album and it's much poppier than their previous two releases. The concept behind the album is that instead of following the norm of what everyone else does (being "basic"), the singers would rather go with what God wants. The standout track by far "So What", a punchy pop tune that empowers young people to stand up for who they are in Jesus by showing love, no matter what. "I Believe In Loud" has a real Taylor Swift feel to it while "Wildfire" is one of the more chilled tracks on this album. Overall I enjoyed the album with a couple of tracks that really jumped out at me sufficiently for me to put them on repeat. Some long-in-tooth listeners might hear echoes of a bit of Steps and S Club 7 but the fact that my 15 year old daughter enjoyed 'Tired Of Basic' demonstrates that LoveCollide are now adept at reaching their target audience.
