Madeleine Kerzner's musical heritage is truly diverse. (It's set out in some detail on the CD sleeve notes or you can read about it in Tom Lennie's review of her debut CD 'From Nation To Nation' on this site.) Once again this talented and anointed worship minister, once musically mentored by the late great Phil Lynott, has teamed up with Noel Robinson to produce a remarkable set of songs, all written, co-written or arranged by the lady herself. Not only does Mr Robinson join her in performing them, but she has also brought Jahaziel and Avis into the group for this set. Her Jewish roots are evident in both the musical style and Hebrew lyrics of some of the songs, notably the opening "Raise The Standard Of His Kingdom" and "Arise And Shine", but there is also a vibrant African feel to some of the others ("Lift Him Higher" and "Hallelujah Hosanna"). Ms Kerzner's powerful voice, coupled with the great band of musicians brought together for this album and Robinson's sharp production all contribute to an album of exuberant and exalting praise. Apart from the music itself, the singer's testimony in the CD booklet will leave you praising The Great I Am.
