This is a traditional gospel album cut in Georgia.  Maxine Blake has a powerful enough contralto and the three-strong Seeds of Faith singers provide tuneful backing. Trouble is, there isn't much to distinguish this from a dozen other similar albums. The arrangements break no new ground, and the studio environ­ment seems to have dampened their Pentecostal fire. I quite enjoyed their bluesy reading of the Clark Sisters' 'Are You Living In Vain' although it did serve to highlight the deficiencies of some of their self-penned material.  I bet they sound better in church.
