Trying to put a label on this EP is like trying to put a babygro on a cat - it's extremely difficult! There is little known about this London band but if their first EP is anything to go by we haven't heard the last of them. Metallic Soap are a cross between the Arctic Monkeys and Queens Of The Stone Age. If your musical fancy lies anywhere in between that scale it's well worth picking up this EP. The songs are nicely crafted and the lyrics pay more than a passing reference to God. The great thing is that I believe everything this band says is genuine. They scream "We're the Nomads of the South, we've found out what life's about/All the emptiness and pain has gone and now we live again." The album may not be everyone's cup of tea but I would urge you to give Metallic Soap a chance to win you over.
