Memphis-based Mr Del releases his fourth solo album, pouring out life lessons in a testimony of a man leaving the world of sex and drugs and stepping out in faith. The 13-track album kicks off with a frank exchange about the evil one at work in the Church especially through money (the "stealer, the killer. . .") over Mr Del's smoothly passionate and deep gritty flow delivered over a pulsing bass. The emcee determines to be about his Father's business, a theme taken up throughout the album, for instance on "Easter Fresh". "My God Remix" features guests Andale, D-Maub, Breev Easy and the soulful vocals of Canton Jones. At times the album loses a bit of energy, but picks up with the roboticly smooth flow from Young Memphis on "FaithBang" followed by the rapper testifying to faith at work alongside Mr Del on "Faithwork". Mr Del does a take on the R.E.M. classic "Losing My Religion" while there's a thought-provoking slowdown on "Grateful". Equally powerful is "I Believe" with vocals from James Robinson. This is an album of up-front and honest insights from the experienced emcee.
