Produced by Loris Holland (Patti Labelle, Mariah Carey), this is the debut offering from a lady whose CV includes backing vocal work for Ashford & Simpson. Marian Carey and Tramaine Hawkins. It's 12 tracks of pleasant "Walkman at night" music; mellow soul providing a backdrop to a great, if not exceptional, voice. Standout tracks are "Come To Me". "A Star" (basically a re-working of "O Come All Ye Faithful"), which brings with it a touch of Christmas and features a choir of children; and "Sing Hallelujah" - a mishmash of South African and Caribbean rhythms (thankfully, she doesn't attempt to do any accents). You might take issue with the song "Set Time Of The Hour" if the "prosperity gospel" doctrine turns you off: otherwise, there's nothing particularly offensive (or particularly innovative, for that matter) here.
