Experienced British gospel worship man Noel Robinson has been a fixture on the UK scene for years now. 'I Surrender' kicks off as it means to go on with the mighty anthem "Faithful God", a co-write with his Integrity Music labelmate Matt Redman. Continuing in the same vein, "He's Able" pushes home the point that God is indeed worthy to be praised and showcases the London-born singer's soulful voice amidst an accomplished musical backdrop that knows exactly when to pull out all the stops or just sit back. Quieter tracks such as "Build My Life" and "Name Of Jesus" show Robinson's tender side before things get ramped back up again with the Ron Kenoly-like "Calling Out Your Name". Whilst there is a classic mid-'90s gospel feel about proceedings, "Arrested By Your Love" brings matters bang up to date and is arguably this album's highlight before "Love Lifted Me" - co-written with Israel Houghton - defies the song's somewhat underdeveloped and simplistic lyrics to become a great piece of modern worship thanks to the skill of each performer - not least the talented Mr Robinson.
