During my time writing for Cross Rhythms I have reviewed a fair number of instrumental worship CDs , most of which fall into the common trap of becoming ''musak'' where the music is easily ignored and only serves the purpose of breaking the silence! I am delighted to report this disc is not guilty due to its variety and quality of musicianship. Contained here are hymns of the British Isles such as "Be Thou My Vision", "Jesus, Lover Of My Soul" and "Immortal, Invisible" played using instruments such as whistles, pipes concertina, bouzouki and my personal favourite, the mandolin. Recorded in the US with producer David Huntsinger, I don't know how many of the musicians he's assembled are Celts but they certainly can play to the highest standards. A delight.
