The driving force behind American group Silage, Damian Home and Lance Black have changed direction to form the urban infused pop rock band Parkway. In a similar style to Jars Of Clay (who are represented on a couple of tracks), Jackson Finch, FFH, Sunday Drive and the late great PFR, here we have their first offering which I was pleased to have parked on my CD player. Challenging, thought provoking, moving, right from the arresting opener "Found Me Out" through to the 13th and final track "All You Deserve" which encapsulates the group's desire to realise their faith in transparent reality. "Sooth Me" is a particularly soothing antidote to the stresses of seeking to match up to the Master in a mad, mad world. Listen up, Parkway, I know your record is very much like Jars Of Clay - but I'm glad you made it.
