I'm sure it won't have escaped your notice that despite this being only their second album in the States Point Of Grace, a female foursome, are MEGA CCM and were recently singled out for a big feature article (alongside Kirk Franklin) about Christian music in the Sunday Times. They specialise in switched leads at different times and this creates a nice effect, while the songs are good, solid pop gospel with plenty of good rhythm and musicality. The lyrics are appropriate although there wasn't much "new" about them. "The Love He Has For You" is perhaps the exception, tackling the subject of waiting for the Mr/Miss Right that God has for each of us. This was a subject close to my heart when I first heard it as my younger sister was getting married just a few days later. It was encouraging to be reminded, "There's a love he has for you/There's a heart that he's been saving." There were times through the album where I could almost hear Amy Grant and Sandi Patti and even an all female Abba! 'The Whole Truth' didn't particularly grab me first play but it's now passed the old grey whistle test, while the slick production is the kind of thing Nashville does brilliantly.

This fabulous 4-some harmonizes for a second release that doesn't disappoint listeners. I luv the cd opener "Gather at the River"; also have the video: great song for these women to sing. I recall hearing "The Great Divide" on ccm radio at the time of the cd release; another top fave. I was watching late night videos on TBN and caught "Dying to Reach You"; another song to add to my luv list. One time ccm recording artist Keith Dudley recorded "Dying to Reach You" in late 1994. "GOD is With Us" is another
cd favorite and notable song. I have the first 4 cd's this wonderful group of ladies released; what a nice welcome addition to ccm. GOD Bless! -Don
