Quite a few UK gospel fans were surprised by MOBO awarding Rachel the Best Gospel Artist prize in 2012 as, after years of singing gospel with her sisters around the Walsall area, it's been providing bvs for mainstream acts like Musiq and Donell Jones, as well as imitating Aaliyah on the Stars In Their Eyes TV show, which have been her forte. She recorded this five-song EP the same year as her MOBO and it's pretty strong modern R&B with the opener, "Hold My Hand", the clear standout. Here's hoping a full-on gospel release comes soon.
