If, like me, you are the wrong side of 30, then you are likely to approach an outfit like ReDefined with some caution. After all, it's been some time since I was 'down with the kids' - I remember when the Beastie Boys were boys and not middle-aged men. But the dynamic duo of Holly Snooke and Dean 'D:No' have no such worries and are busy in the West Midlands promoting the Gospel as part of the Saltmine Trust's ministry. They sure are funky, and as loud and proud as you can expect. Their eponymous track sets out their mission very well, but the real nuggets here are the other tracks. The remix of "Brand Nu You" is right on the money, with its De La Soul-esque backline. It's so funky that even David Cameron might get jiggy with it, and surely even he would approve of the lyrics. Holly really lets rip on "Hope" and sings her heart out. Her singing on this track is brilliantly complemented by D:No's rap. Definitely an act to look out for.
