Well, as I write this it is with the unhappy knowledge that I won't be hearing any more from this lot. British metallers Redemption Awaits have decided to call it a day. Based on this two track CD, that's a bit of a shame. Metalcore through and through, this offering is full of the usual blast beat drums, shredding guitars and breakdowns aiming to crumble the foundations of small buildings. The intensity of the band is palpable and, even though it suffers from slightly sub-par production there are plenty of ideas surfacing. Occasional injections of melody are welcome and well done and the odd hardcore-band classic shout-along on show sound assured. Although the reasons as to the split are unknown, I can't help but wonder what a whole album would have been like from a band who obviously had plenty of ideas to explore.
