Blues has always been an intensely personal music that comes from the heart and this is no exception. Kansas City-based Jimmie's conversion and subsequent ministry has provided much experience for him to write from and the passion comes through in the music. Starting with an almost country opener "It's A New Day" with its upbeat celebration of conversion, the styles vary from the power ballad "God Screams" through to the harmonica-laden acoustic blues of "I'll Be Me". The production and arrangements are excellent and work just as well on the full on, full band tracks as they do with a pared back acoustic number. Do not be fooled into thinking blues means depressing either as this album will not fail to lift the spirits and is almost a master class in blues and blues-influenced music.

I LOVE Jimmie's music, All of his albums are GREAT! There is something about the feel of his music that really comes out in his song writing, playing and singing style that will make you feel as though you are right there on the path he himself has walked. A very talented songwriter and musician and a blessing to all who come in contact with him and his wonderful gift.

As I understand it Jimmie did most if not all of the production on this project and it shows with a very consistent sound and groove that is Jimmie Bratcher. The lyrical content is powerful and the hooks are catchy - particularly Heart not Broken which has one of the catchiest guitar melodies I've ever heard...just sticks in my head. The lead guitar tones are amazing as usual and the harmonica work from Tim Gonzales really helps seal the deal for Jimmie best record yet!

I have been a fan of Jimmie's for several years. I have all his albums and have seen him live. This album is incredible. There isn't a bad song in the bunch. Lyrics are great. Guitar work is sweet - bluesy / country feel. If you don't have this CD, you need it. For that matter if you are a blues fan, you need his whole catalog.
