Swiss guitarist Roland has played in numerous bands before eventually getting to make a solo album. 'Aineo' is the result. From the first note it becomes very clear that Buhlmann is a highly skilled musician. It was beautifully recorded in his home studio with electric and classical guitar, mandola and bass over programmed drums and percussion. With strong leanings towards prog rock, the opener "Breakthrough" sets the stall out with playing that puts him amongst the best out there! There are other influences - jazz in "Kenosis" and Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" in "Contemplation" (not only style, but possibly in length too at over 11 minutes long!). To experience a master musician displaying his craft, this is a masterclass in top rate musicianship.
